Men are called to do the tough things – not through domineering leadership or worldly toughness, but through Christ-like servant leadership. Starting with a servant’s heart, being strong when needed, and taking ultimate responsibility are essential traits for men in the church. While statistics show declining male church attendance over centuries, the solution isn’t to embrace toxic masculinity or reject compassion. Instead, it’s about following Jesus’ example of sacrificial leadership – being willing to flip tables when necessary but also showing deep compassion and humility. True masculine strength means choosing the difficult path of vulnerability, accountability, and genuine care for others over the easy road of isolation and self-protection. When men embrace this biblical model of leadership, they help build stronger families, churches and communities.
